Follow the simple steps below to create sturdy, great-looking standees at home. The great thing about printable miniatures is that you don’t need much to make them.
Materials you need
Paper: US (LBS): 52 lb – 65 lb Cover or EU (metric): 160 – 200 g/m² , matte finish recommended.
Printer: Inkjet or laser printer.
Tools: Simply use scissors and a glue stick/crafting glue. Optional (nice to have but definitely not necessary): ruler, cutting mat, bone folder or a blunt knife.
Bases: Every cutting file includes apaper base which you can use. If you prefer additional bases made from plastic, acrylic, wood, or similar materials, I recommend a 20 mm base with a 2–3 mm slot for standard miniatures.
Step 1: Download and Print
Chose your favorite minis from www.sagaworksco.com.
You can print each miniature directly, one at a time. If you would like to print several miniatures on one page, simply insert them into an office document such as Word or LibreOffice Writer. This allows you to arrange multiple figures on a single sheet.
Set the print scale to 100%. Print the file and allow the ink to dry completely before cutting.
Step 2: Cutting and Gluing
Cut out the figure. Make sure to include the semicircles at the top and bottom, and do not cut through the thick line in the center between the mirrored images. Then cut out the base.
Apply glue to the back of the figure (3), then fold the figure along the center line (the thick line). The base semicircles do not need glue.
Now cut out the outer contour of the figure.
Fold out the semicircles at the bottom of the figure (7) and apply glue to them. Then attach the figure to the base.
Done! 🙂
Want to use alternative bases?
Simply cut off the semicircles below the figure, then follow the steps described above.
